So I got my hid kits for my 08 rex , , and I just plugged them in to see if the beam pattern was correct for both high and low beams.........I thought it might be to much glare because the headlights are made for halogens , but they projected perfectly . I will install them in the next week or so and put up some pics, ........video.
you don't have to disable the DRLs on every model. My 06 had a sharphid kit 6k low beams and they stayed on all the time. Didn't flicker or strobe beyond on startup. Otherwise always constant. I believe 07s had the DRLs voltage turned down because of complants from the 06 model year customers saying that the DRLs at night looked no different then the normal low beams. I'm basing that off a article in subie's mag drive that they send me for free because i bought the WRX.
The 08 models have the DRL'S in the highbeams of the headlight . I already now all about the DRL situation , I've retrofitted many headlights . I'm not a newby to modding , besides the slim kit I'm using is only 6 amps at peak , the ballsts will work just fine with the DRL's on , no biggie.

Well since I put HID'S in the high beams , I did have to disconnect the drl .......I just unplugged it ...........now I just have to get my fogs to run independently ......I gotta look at the relay's and wiring ........
