Smile Hey Guys.. WOoo.

Alright so I am coming from Mitsubishi into the Scooby world and so far I have no regrets =).

I am also coming from the automatic world into the standard, its a bit challenging on the hills and sometimes from dead stops but I am slowly getting the hang of it!

Anyways on to the more interesting part (:

2004 Subaru WRX

Goodies:
The Owner mentioned the car was Cobb Stage 2 Tuned, has a special exhaust and the car puts out around 280whp (it definitely is not a base Lancer).
Turbo/ Exhaust Temp Gauges
7" Kenwood GPS/Sound System
Rota Rims (I believe?)
Other than that.. sunroof, heated seats, very comfy cloth / recaro style seats, blue tooth, cruise control, usb/ipod ports etc..

Still have a lot to find and figure out on the car as I just got it two days ago =)

Rotas I believe? anyone know what kind of rims these are??

I haven't gotten the engine bay cleaned yet D:, next thing to do . Does it look stock btw?

Thanks a lot guys,

Hope to make some car buddies on here and learn how to maintain and take care of my new lady correctly.

Also.. anyone have any suggestions for rims or is there a thread that I may of skipped that shows different cars with rims??

- Cheers

Chris.

Besides the bunny under your hood. It looks stock to me.
Welcome to the forum.
P.s. I can't see your exhaust , so maybe your not stock. Did he give you an access port with it?

I regret to inform you you're not making anywhere near 280 whp. Stage 2 cars put down about 50 whp less than that.

Aside from that, welcome.

Also, clean that engine bay!

The bunny? He did give me an access port, here is a pic of my exhaust;

I know he was trying to make it a bit of a sleeper,

Here is the accessecu port;

Would a video of me revving the engine help?

Looks like you got version 1 of accessport. Service support and customer support is no longer available for this version of accessport. Cobb was doing a $200 trade-in towards the newer version of accessport some time back but I think now they will only accept trade-in if your current version fails.

Just something to keep in mind.
I agree with fatal, clean that engine bay. !Laugh!

What is the best way to clean the engine bay, just with a cloth?

Did an exhaust video, can't hear the boxer rumble nearly as good as in real life but its mostly for the piping;

Cheers.

Dilute some Simple Green with water and spray. Then, if possible, spray it off with water while the engine bay is cold (meaning after it's been sitting) and let it dry. If you do it with a hot engine bay you will get water spots.

Yeah, my stock exhaust is sitting in my shed, looks like what you have from the pic and video. I'm not saying it had the cats removed, I'm saying it may. From factory, your car came with 3 cats. The first one is ine to look into removing because its before the turbo. It can fall apart which results in destroying your turbo.

When I clean my bay, I take out the whole intake box and scrub it out with soapy water and recharge the K&N filter. Stainless steel wipes to clean the metal,Spray some degreaser on a cloth and wipe the hoses down.
Take the battery terminals off and clean them and clean the battery off w battery cleaner. Take the intercooler off and take a airhose and spray the opposite way to remove any road debris "rocks,bugs guts,etc"

Just cleaned mine a few days ago Ill try to get a pic up of how fresh and so clean she is.
Some things I do every few months

I hear some rattling noises in the exhaust, do you think it is from the heat shield? I'l have to take a look under the car in the morning.

Yes. Because its before the turbo and will cost you more if your turbo gets a taste of the honeycomb.
