your never i dont care what dealership you go too are going to "talk down" or "negotiate" the price of a new car.... If you dont buy it some one else will.... and if they cant sell a new car at the end of the year they will get rebates to drop the price of a car.... that is why its best to wait to but a NEW car until September time and get the previous model for a good price....

I used to work at a dealership. The markup on new cars is nothing compared to used cars. An 05 STi that needs a new clutch and tires is a poor deal, stear clear from that noise.
As far as buying a new one for 3-4 grand more why? You lose that money after you are
.001 miles off the lot. New cars are only worth it if you want to be damn sure noone beats on it except you. 16k miles is not that much, but i saw a brand new 06 (minnesota) for $31.1k (had hail dmg from a storm, but the dealership fixed it). You may want to drive a few hundred miles and get one in a different city for cheaper if you cant find one your area. The roadtrip back will be more than half of your break-in time too, which is nice.

Good point. Just walk into the dealership ready to walk out. Like mentioned above sometimes they will even come running outside to re-negotiate a price. Dont expect to get too much taken off, but maybe 1 or 2 grand is within the realm of possibility.
