lol...this thread reaks of sarcasam. I'm positive zmanoside was being sarcastic. He's posted way too many intelligent threads to be that naive.

while we're on topic...do some of you guys think an intake would net me any power with an 18g setup and supporting mods? I can hear my turbo loud enough as it is, but Iam just wondering if this would make any difference. Guess my main questions is...How restictive, if at all, is the stock intake? Im thinking the better method for gains would be a CAI in addition to a tune but times are tough and I lack casshhh.

This is why I always use [/sarcasm] at the end of something when I'm being sarcastic. Sarcasm fails on the internet.

I cant tell if this is verbal irony or what... but if its a true question here is your answer.

A cold air intake is pointless on your car. a Short ram is ideal for your setup. not to mention your talking more time for air flow to reach its destination with the cold air. even if you do have an 18G setup. Even though the point is to bring colder air into the intake... versus the concept "heat always rises." with the short ram. Your looking about the same gains (if any at all) on either one. and im pretty sure some of the gurus on here would have more indepth technical advice as far as intakes go. Your factory intake (to my understanding) is good up to 300hp. (i wouldnt know because i replaced mine as soon as i got my rex.)

So if your looking for an intake... might i recommend a k&N short ram (what i got.) or some people like perrin or HKS. but really its what you want to do.

(Note: another thing on the CAI. I would imagine if your running an 18G. you have a front mount. if so, say good by to the CAI. there is no room in the fender-well on the passenger side if you did a front mount.)

no, i wasn't being sarcastic, i actually really like it. very happy. and rgprestige to be honest with you i really don't know but if you have an 18G you r probably pushing over 300 horses n if i kept my stock air scoop i would change it at 300 because that's the most common number i heard for ### the stock air scoop can handle. just my thoughts, could be wrong...

Air scoop?? Or do you mean intake? Its good to ~300+ HP proven. Im sure you can run the 18G with it if you wanted. But gains could be possible with a good tune also.

Heck yeah! Can't beleive I forgot about that one! dang.....

It's funny; the other day I was talking with this guy with a civic hatchback and he asked me about my car, and he was like, "it's non-VTEC huh?"

"Nah man it's real VTEC. You didn't know that Volkswagen put VTEC on every model since 1990?"

^See, that's sarcasm.
