Gas mileage on your STI's?

just wondering what you STI owners are getting for gas mileage anywhere from stock to heavily modded. I just got my STI on thursday and upgraded from an 05 wrx and geez...the gas mileage is horrible. i went from 305miles on my wrx to 215miles. Just want to see what happens when you start doing heavy performance mods?

I have a stock 06' STi. I've had it for a little over a month while putting more than 2000 miles on it. My last fill-up I calculated 17.8 mpg! And my best so far was 24.2 mpg! I realize there is no way I can drive this car responsibly!

Wrx Mpg

I don't have an STI, but I have made a few mods to my WRX, and the gas mileage has suffered a bit. My low is 19mpg; high is 24.5 mpg. The 24.5 came from using the Cobb AP with the 'Fuel Economy' map. I drove it just as I did when I got 19mpg. The 19 came from using the Stage 2 93 octane map.

I will actually do the speed limit the next time I remap to the Econo setting, and see what I get. The Stage 2 setting is such a blast!

I didn't buy an STi for the gas mileage. That was the furthest thing from my mind. That said, I get between 17 and 23 depending on how much highway or city driving I'm doing.

I here you on that blackout, i'm getting about the same. Could also be that people who buy STi's also tend to have a heavy right foot...

If I could only keep my foot off the gas pedal I could get better gas mileage, but it's way to much fun.

Yeah I can never get more than 20mpg unless I'm on a long road trip where I'm mostly cruising.

I travel about 70 miles a day, mostly highway, to and from work each day. Since getting my WRX, I have experimented with different driving set-ups and styles; AP econo map, 93oct stage 2 map, heavy foot and light foot utilizing each map.

In the end, it's all about the fun, which is the reason why I bought the car. 4 doors for the 'family side of me', turbo-charged for me alone.

In the end, it's the 93 Stage 2 map with a heavy foot. Ahhhhhhh.

i think this has been done many times over ... anyway i must say that i'm always surprised that those who super tune their cars to ridiculous whps dont seem to consume more fuel than those who left them bone stock with half the power! hmmm ...

Well, I'm not one of them. After I up-graded to a Deadbolt 20G, 255 fuel pump, and PE850 cc injectors, I'm down to about 15 mpg. I can't make it through a tank without getting in it, so I'm not sure how good it could be !

i drove my car like my grandpa for a complete tank full shifting at 2750 RPM or less every shift for the entire tank full and got 22MPG.

i drove it like a mad man shifting at high revs and got 23.

i drove it like a moderate person shifting when the engine sounded right keeping it at 2250 or more RPM 90 % of the time driving and got 25 mpg.

i dont know whats up but it seems the turbo is more efficient at a little higher rpm. like 2350 to 2500 RPM it must be a better lean area as far as Air Fuel mixture.

13,500 miles on a 2006 TR
