Front brake noise

When I apply the brakes I get a slight clunking sound. I check the calipers and they seem to have a little movement is this normal.

a little movement is normal, the caliper is mounted to sliders to allow for pad wear. check for pad movement both up and down and front to back. there may be a problem with the shims or clips(worn or missing. I always recommend replacing them with every brake service. what you may be hearing is the pads knocking around when the brakes are applied. there could also be a problem with the dust boot on the caliper piston, might be stuck to the piston and is pulling the piston back after the brakes are applied, can cause a clunk on application but usually also has a mushy pedal feel as well.
