Correct. Aftermarket cat back exhausts are mainly for looks and sound - no tune is necessary. Bolt it on and go have fun!

you would probably be alot happier with a downpipe and a tune as well, it is a pretty good power upgrade

...like night and day on our 2.0L's

Nope. Nothing consistently measurable on a dyno. Without a downpipe, catbacks are just noise makers.

You're better off listening to Benny Hinn than taking manufacturer claims as fact.

you have a few choices, go to a local tuner (not sure on price), cobb accesport $595 or so, depending on where you get it, opensource, like romraider and ecuflash, can purchase a ots stage 2 map from xpt tuning(that is what i did)...ecuflash and romraider are free, and the map is 52.00 for basic stage 2 map, and yes, can use just the downpipe, but recommended to get a new up pipe as well, since ours have a cat in them that can fall apart and destroy the turbo....

tactrix cable would also be needed for the opensource like romraider/ecuflash

Could be either, usually the latter if you're talking about a Stage 2 tune.
