Exhaust!!???

Hi my name is Ryan, and I just bought my very first wrx. It's a 2012(4000 miles).
Before that I had a scion frs, I gave it to my wife because I just wasn't satisfied with it(not enough power). Anyways back to my question I'm very new at tuneing cars and I am open to all criticism just don't be a douche. I want to put a new exhaust system on my wrx but don't know which one to get. I want one that is capable of handling a bigger turbo in the future, and yes I know you have to do more than just exhaust before you put a bigger turbo in. I just want an exhaust that will be able to handle one so that I'm not wasting my money. Also one that sounds great and will give me some decent performance. Is it a bad idea to do that? How much cost am I looking at?

I would suggest doing a quick search on this forum first. This is a very basic question that has been brought up many times before.

First get a Cobb AP and get rid of that deadly stock tune. As far as exhaust, IMO nameless performance is my fave. I'm prob being bias because that's what I have on my 13 STi. Nameless performance makes there exhaust to order. They offer a turbo back bundle which includes the down pipe, full exhaust and Cobb ap for approx 2200. It's exactly what I bought and I couldn't be any happier w my setup. W that setup you can reflash your car to stage 2 and you will get some great gains. After that its up to you if you want a protune. Again something I did. My 13 STi is currently running on ethanol 343wheel hp and 393 ft lbs of torque. Good luck on your mod journey and well to Subaru!Name: ImageUploadedByAutoGuide1370533343.038236.jpg

You can replace your cat back any time without a tune since they're mainly for looks and sound. Down the road, any 3" cat back should be sufficient to support just about any aftermarket turbo (unless you go with something stupidly big). Check out online videos and local meets to see which one you like the best. New or used, you'll probably have to spend a few hundred bucks, but it's a bolt-on part that you can install yourself if you have access to a jack and stands and some basic hand tools.

You'll probably also benefit greatly from reading through this link: Unabomber's Manifesto - NASIOC

Depends on E mix Justin... I've seen really nice numbers on 50/50 on every platform.

What blend @Neversummer?

I'm assuming E85 since he said ethanol. Even with meth, no stock turbo Impreza will be making 400 wtq. The hp numbers are spot on for E85, but the tq numbers should be much lower. Any tuner who's puts out whp/tq numbers with a disparity of 50 has been doing a little bit of

I was dynoed on a mustang dyno. Cobb installed/sold the dyno to my tuner. Here's a couple pics of my charts The one dyno is a combo of my results all together. The top numbers or the higher of the lines is the E85 tune. The middle is on pump. I'm making approx 310 on pump. The lowest was w a stock air box back in April. Sooooooo 100% E?

That's not a blend.... I'm talking 50/50 meaning 50% E / 50% 93

yes....putting straight e85 in the car...i dont mix it with pump 93octane...the only time i will partially mix is when i go back to pump gas in sept....and switch maps back to pump but the partially mix is only from the left over E85 in my tank

Nice.... wish I could run 100% E

I'm left to run 20% with this DI (safely)

Be careful running 100% E85 for a long period of time.... use it as your "racemap"... or "playmap".... stuff gunks.

Nice though.
