Enlighten me!

Hey guys.. New to the forum but I observe from time to time.. Some of you guys really know what you are talking about.

So here's my question for you. I'm brand new to tuning cars and need you to tell me where to start. I have recently had an 07 Impreza fall into my lap. Completely stock and no I can't sell it for a WRX or STi.

So guys.. Enlighten me and tell me where to start with it.

So you have an N/A Impreza? Non WRK/STI? If this is the case its just like any other car (I.e Civic, Integra). If you want power it can be had in the form of an exhaust and headers, maybe a quality intake.

cold air intake-header-midpipe-cat back-throttle body coolant bypass. After that you could have it tuned then turn your attention to you suspension...no pun intended.

I was looking into intakes and things of that sort.

Should I get cat back even if i don't have turbo? Would it even give me any more power? I sure would like the sound though

Thanks for the feedback guys

And you said something about back-throttle body coolant bypass? What is involved with that. Isn't that a mod you can do for really cheap?

save your money? I wouldn't spend money on mods for that car. Sorry if that's a boring answer. You're probably only going to have that car for a few years if that... it's harder to sell with mods and you're going to cost yourself big bucks.

the throttle body coolant by pass is very easy, there is a coolant line that runs through your throttle body to help you with warm up and cold starts but after your warmed up and what not. it just turns your throttle body into another radiator....simply by pass that line.
