I have a 2002 wrx that spun a bearing and I'm looking to swap a 97 ej20g. Is it a direct drop in? Can I use my stock wiring harness and ecu? Or is it better to just get a ej257 short block?
EJ20G is not plug and play nor a particularly good investment. If budget is an issue stick with another EJ205 block. If you have money to spend, get the EJ25 block and get your heads machined out to match it.
What I'm looking at now is the hybrid swap ej205 heads with ej257 short block
Is this a direct swap (mounts, tranny, ecu, etc.)?
What gains am I looking at?
Do I need to do anything to the heads (port, bore, etc.)?
What's max Boost that I can run on This?
