Not much is the same, but some things can be used. The heads are different. STI heads have different cams and AVCS. EJ20 heads can be bolted on a EJ25 or vice versa. The pistons are obviously different. The 25's are a wider diameter. I believe the wrist pins are the same. The STI ej25 has a vf39 turbo... the WRX has a TDO4.... the STI turbo can be bolted on the wrx for more power. The STI up pipe will directly bolt into the EJ20. The WRX has a cataletic converter in the up pipe which is a bad thing... the cranks are different and you must change your rods to use then in one block or the other... what else do you wanna know?

The intercooler on the STI is larger but will work on the WRX. The US STI injectors will not work on a WRX. They are side feed. The japanese STI's have 2.0 engines in them and have injectors that will work in the WRX. They are called STI "pinks."

the STi intercooler has a slightly different angle than the 02-05 WRX's. It fits, you just have to be aware of that and adjust things accordingly. I think the 06-07 use the same position of the IC on STI and WRX...

Do you mean an ej 205 and ej 255, wrx motors? If so, then basically nothing but displacement. However I think an 04/05 Forester motor is the same as ej257 sti's.

But if you thinking of hybridizing 205 and 255, i am not sure on which head gasket to use...
maybe someone does...
