This is a popular first goal for WRX owners, usually netting the 260 whp range, about 100 over stock WRX levels. Buy quality or new parts and it will cost you about $2500. Take your time and build a parts pile in the garage as you find good used parts, or go cheap and it should be around $1600

An STi topmount $300 new OEM on ebay

STi vf39 turbo used $300 craigslist or nasioc

sti injectors $250 used nasioc

walbro fuel pump $80 new

up pipe $150 used anywhere

downpipe $150 used anywhere

catback $varies

tune - $400 used accessport, $250 to $500 protuned

It is popular to build in stages. Start with an aftermarket downpipe (and up pipe, in your case) and get tuned for it. Install a cat back any time. Then add a larger top mount intercooler, fuel pump, and 3 port boost control solenoid and get another tune. Finally, add a larger turbo, injectors, and get ANOTHER tune. These stages will usually cost you several hundred bucks to a grand or more, which is why people usually don't do everything all at once. But like Brandon mentioned, if you can save up some money and be patient, you can collect parts and do it all at once. Building power slowly is a good idea because it prolongs the fun and anticipation as well as allows you to get used to the extra power gradually.

If you have to pay for some labor, you might want to add some cost but this is your true answer. No part on this list is optional.

I'm glad to see you're reading, asking questions, and trying to figure things out before just buying parts and slapping them on. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. This is a friendly place and we're all happy to help.

Get that stock tune OUT of that car asap.

The 07's had the worst tune from the factory. Go buy an AP or get an opensource tune.

You forgot the entire suspension and brake list, which is not optional for those mods either.

Upgraded suspension and brakes would be a preference thing, I can hardly see him blowing his engine because he forgot to upgrade his rotors...
