i have read around and all i want to know is when you hit the button i can choose the power split from front to back. as in is it true that you can bring more of the power to the back wheels

You can't make the car RWD at the touch of a button. It has limits, but yes. It does put more power to the rear.

I think that I read the whole way back on the dccd is about 35% front and 65% rear. I wouldn't take that as fact...just a vague memory of information.

LOCK is 50/50, OPEN is as close to RWD as you get (I have heard 35/65 as well)

The steps in between Lock and Open have always been said to not use unless your on ice or dirt. Lock in severe or adverse conditions. "Auto" normally only really goes between Open and the Lock settings. Auto does the following: Open under normally driving and Lock under hard acceleration. From what I've read.
