Seems like it would be a hard piece to just break in half? I don't know if I would want to weld it back together, I would fix it right. Hopefully that works.

Not when you install your BOV where the wastegate goes.
So i'm still confusded as to why he tryed installing the BOV onto the exhaust side. At first I thought he meant the BPV (as mentioned before) but i guess he seriously put the BOV on the exhaust? That's pretty interesting, I wonder where you got your instructions from.
High-Five to everyone that understood the problem, I didn't understand anything this guy is trying to say.
Well, anyway, good luck, hope you didn't Eff up your car too bad.
yeah its just flopping around and they told me thats why my turbo dont even spool anymore. im going to get it welded today and will see the results.
LoL... im new as well, and i really really really dont mean to sound disrespectful in ANY way. This is what someone told me that may help you in the future. If you do not know the answer to the question you're asking, ask before doing so. (which you probably already learned now.) What you need to do, is piece everything back together the way it was before you replaced the wastegate actuator with the bov. If it still doesnt run. take it to a subaru dealership. Have them correct the problem. then either sell it, take care of it as stock, or learn about the car before doing ANY mods and use this as a learning experience.
alright everyone i just came back from gettin it welded back on and that was the problem. my turbo spoons now and is not running like crap anymore. im still going to buy a stock wastegate because it doesnt look so safe to have it just welded like i have it. i have to adjust that bracket a lil bit and its going to run the same but, yeah im running back on turbo again.

Your turbo spoons now? What, did you take it off the car and into bed with you?
Anyways.....
Well, once again I don't really understand what the problem was, but whatever, glad your car is "running on turbo again". Just make sure you try not to mess up your car again. Ask questions for stuff you're not sure about (like where to mount your BOV) The answer to that one is back in it's box.
Don't be disrespectful. He messed up. I'm thinking he has to have a EWG because there is no way he mounted it internally. Unless he mounted it on the outside of turbo where that one vaccum attachment is. I think that's what it is. 2007 STI parts to 2008 WRX It'd be on the left of the turbo....I use dumdum's picture a lot.
Sorry, wasn't trying to be disrespectful, just making a joke. I know he messed up, that's why I suggested asking questions before he attempts anything he isn't sure about. And i correctly advised him to the correct mounting position of a BOV. (Back in it's box) Unless it's really needed with high psi and turbo upgrade........
wrxecm, kudos for taking this all with some humility and not getting huffy over some criticism. We should all be as level headed.
Remember the wastegate itself is actually inside your turbo. What you're talking about is the actuator and yes, it's very important that you deal with it. Just gluing your wastegate shut is going to be a serious problem.
yes i found out it was the actuator arm that was cut in half. its welded back on now and my turbo spoons and everything but i still dont trust it. im looking around for an actuator so i wont get any problems with this one. anyways thanks mosc im a noobie on wrxs but i learned my lesson.
