Busy weekend

Had the car for two weeks now. I hardwired my Escort 8500 and had a clear bar install in week one of ownership. I was eager to get some other stuff done to the car. I wanted the heated seats but did not want to pay for the premium package as I did not want fog lights nor the sun roof.

So I installed a heated pad in the driver seat today. Now, my car has the best seat in the house. It was a bit more involved than I thought. The difficult part was taking the driver seat out of the car. Also, the back of the seat has to be separated from the bottom of the seat. A lot of tedious work. Overall, I took my time and I did it in 3 hours. I probably can do it in less time now I know what to do.

I also install a set of Eibach front and rear sway bars along with the Kartboy endlinks. Pretty basic install. I did have to remove the SPT muffler to get the rear sway bar in. I got the sway bar / endlinks locally from someone locally for a decent price. I am very please with the outcome.

Replaced the stock shift knob with a Blox 490 knob. Could not believe the difference. The overall height was reduced by about an inch. The shifting was much improved. I am waiting for my Kartboy short shifter/bushings and a boost gauge. Should be here tomorrow. The delivery was delayed due to a train derailment. At least that was what UPS told me. After that, I will be done for a while.

Well under way, and looking like a good build so far 👍

Congrats on doing something custom like the seat too. How is it powered? Toggle? Where'd you put it?

Installed the Kartboy short shifter last evening. I enjoyed the new shifter along with the Blox 490 shift knob. A bit knotchy but I think I can get use to it.

Put in the Prosport boost (mechanical) gauge today(I had the exact one on my Mazdaspeed 3 before). A lot more work than I thought. I can not for the life of me find a way to route my vacuum line through the fire wall(the one with the rubber cap). I ended up routing the vacuum line along the driver side fender and pushed the line through the rubber harness. The wiring is somewhat confusing but it ended up working fine. I had it set at white light during the day and amber when the headlights are on.

I am posting some of the hard work I have done in the last couple of weeks. Now I can enjoy the car the way I like it.
