blow-off valve?

I understand what it does but is it worth it? Any significant performance increase? If so what kind? Acceleration, top end...

no performance increase, just a nice sound. However on some cars the stock BOV leaks and they need a stronger one to prevent leaking. In that case it could have a very big performance affect (that is if ## leaking boost pressure).

yeah after-market BOVs help performance since they hold more boost over the stock BOV, however if u dont hav a boost control and ## just runnin the stck boost i dont think it will make that much of a difference

i kno that on DSMs aftermarket BOVs that vent to the atmosphere r bad cause the car will get idling problems, i dont kno bout WRXs though.
overall however, theres nothin rong with aftermarket BOVs. they hold more boost, and prevent any leakin. i guess some ppl might think they are bad cause the ngine is gettin more boost, but i always take that as a plus

There you go man, that post has some good information. And to kylo, on DSMs BOVs that vent to the atmosphe might cause idling problems, but not always.

but giving the engine more boost (without upgrading other components first) is bad isn't it?

Sorry tut4u2, diddnt mean to say it like that but yea there is a possibility that it can cause idleing problems. Its just that from the people that i know who all have ssqv's (100% vent) dont have problems.

Yes is it. However, you generally change your BOV after you have changed your IC pipes, and other components.
