Recently got a nameless axleback muffler delete and the tips on the right side hang lower than the left and I don't know how to fix it anyone encounter this before or have any ideas?
The most common issue when hanging aftermarket exhaust is sag created by improperly rotating the components during install. If you connected the axle back to a stock Y pipe then you should have flat flanges as mounting points. To even them out loosten your flanges and let the exhaust sit in the hangers. then tighten them so they sit even. If your hangers are worn/stretched or damaged they might not hold the exhaust in place. In that case there are a handful of companies that produce stiffer exhaust hangers that give you some choice as to how high or low you would like your exhaust to sit.
So basically loosen the bolts that are connecting it to the ypipe, have someone else hold the tips where it's even while retightening? Thanks for the quick reply by the way
Yeah thats the idea, I usually use a few shop towels folded up to get the gap between the exhaust tips and the bumper just right. Its not as accurate as say a measuring tape but its much easier for 1 person to tape a few folded towels to the tip and then run a line of tape across the bottom to the bumpers to hold them in place.
The idea is just to make the fine adjustments on the end before tightening them in place at the Y pipe. Again if thats not enough it might be worth looking into a set of stiffer hangers.
