Ya know, i'm one of those guys that replaces things soon, so if it were me, i'd do a full tune up of spark plugs, oil change (i'd recommend Royal Purple, or any Synthetic oil) But then again, it's going to be hard to do spark plugs unless you take it to a dealer..... But yeah, i'd do a full oil change, and since your profile says you have a perrin intake, i'd clean or replace the filter also. Just do the regular. maybe spray some lube everywhere on your suspension also.

I have already cleaned my Jetta's air filter three times and changed the oil twice in only 2k miles and 4 months. I'm about to swap to performance spark plugs and wires also.

Yeah, I don't know why i'm posting this reply, it is kind of useless. But whatever I'm BORED!

You should be good to about 60k and check out this thread. 30k service That list is what most subaru dealerships will perform.

Subaru maintenance schedules and new car break-in period

According to that link, just keep up with your regular oil changes and your next major service will be at 60K. I'd get that noise checked out for sure. Strange noises are usually a sign of something bad.

Just know that STIs should have the platinum plugs in from the dealership and those don't need to be changed until 60k. Should be inspected at 30k though. All other plugs should be changed in 30k intervals. According to their service guides.

I hate to say this....because I have no idea. But if you posted that exact post in the drivetrain/tranny forum. You'd probably have better luck on getting help from people that would know.
