xpel is a good company for clear bra, this is the kit for your car http://www.xpel.com/products/configu...583&series=434

I dont know alot about this company http://www.stickercity.com/store/home.php?cat=2273 I never used their clear bra but we use their colored headlight protection and its of good quality.

Those leather, or vinyl ones suck ass, they actually scratch you paint underneath it if you dont take it off and clean it all the time. I would go with the clar bra, it might be more expensive but worth it in the long run.

3M's version is really nice but it's expensive. I think I saw $550 installed for the 06. Definitly worth it though. They tested it by firing a wadcutter pellet from a 410 fps pellet gun at a mirror with clearbra. It put a divot in the clear bra but not a mark in the paint when they pulled the bra off.

yeah me too! its hella hard to do , I have been doing it for like 4 years now and there are still cars out there that give me touble. the trick is the soultion you use , it needs to be a 70/ 30 water alcohol mixture and you have to strech the shit out of it before you squeege it down.

New life to this thread!

Hi! So I got my 07 WRX last month...first mod was the accessport, and the I got the clearbra installed. It is sweet! Definitely worth the money IMO. There is a guy in Northern IL I went through with many years in the business. This guy was very impressive and I was glad he didnt mind me watching and taking pitcures haha. He cam out and did my car and both of my parents cars for 500 each. He gave me this discount because he was able to stay all day in the same spot lol. He's used to dealership hopping durring the day. Each car took 4-5 hours start to finish (he was working alone).
Do not use any clearners/products containing petroleum when cleaning/polishing the clearbra as it will turn the 3M material yellow over time. (especially true on a white car).
That is what my installer said. He also gave me samples of some 3M polish and Plexus (plastic cleaner) and told my to use only those 2 if I can help it.
I suppose this is one big drawback for those looking at the clearbra as a potential next step. No longer can you wash/wax your whole car the exact same......but if you care enough about your REXXY like I do....Its really not that big of a deal.
For anyone still following this thread, ill post some install pics 2morrow night. Latez

FYI my installers name is Rick and he is the owner/installer of body-skins.com for all you chicagoland area car owners. There is an application guide with pics as well on the site. He's a great guy and loves his job. Hes done quite a few wrx/stis and some VERY high-end cars!!

I don't get it. Paint can be touched up. Worse comes to worse you re-paint the hood. I mean, it's not like you have gold plate on your car ffs. Why spend all this money and effort on "protection" for paint? The Paint itself is really there for protection. Best case even with the clear ones you'll have 2 different shades of faded after a few years. Again, why?

And how much does a repainted hood/fenders/bumper cost? Bottom line is, you can do nothing and repaint in a few years (less if you do alot of highway driving) which will cost you over 1000, or you get the clearbra now and in a few years, if it discolors or is nicked up badly from rocks....take it off and your paint will look as good as it did the day you installed the bra. Thats why.

I priced getting my whole front end repainted and most of it was labor (and still less than $1000 even with all my stupid STi plastic pieces). The hood I could remove myself in a few seconds and they'd charge me probably <$200 to repaint it with labor. How much did the bra cost? How long did it take to put on?
