Exclamation 2007 or 2014 STI?

hey guys, I just joined the forum because I am stuck in a rut. I'm looking to sell my 2007 fj cruiser trd special edition to get an sti. I'm debating on getting an 07 because I have found one that I feel is a decent deal, or getting a new 2014.

2007 Subaru Impreza WRX $22,995 - International Auto Outlet - Hamilton, OH 45015-1505 Dealer

^here is the 2007 that I have found.

my main question is based on your opinion, if you could pick, money not being an option, would you choose 06/07 sti or a brand new one 13/14?

my second question is, if you took the time to look over and review the 2007 I found, well first of all, thank you. and second, does it throw up any red flags to you?

and third, are the new 13/14 sti's better to buy than the 06/07's?

I just absolutely love the 07 body style, especially the WR blue, its been my dream car for years ive always wanted one. but I would love to have a brand new sti with no issues, no mods, just brand spankin new. if you guys could give me your opinion on which I should choose I would greatly appreciate.

thank you for your time

That has to be one of the biggest questions. I do luv the look of the Hawk Eye's but yet the new 13/14 STI is so super sexy. its really what you really want. Which car do you feel fits you better the Hawk Eye or the New body style. If you want bone stock then go new that way you dont have to worry about someone riding the car hard. if the one you are looking at is in good shape and not many owners then try that one. From what i found and i have just gotten mine yesterday. I went with the Bug Eye(02-03) and it took me 4 years to find the right car that talked to me.the biggest difference from what i have read is 5 more HP and a bit more Torque but alot more electrical stuff to worry about with the new ones. Hope this helps a bit if not sorry.

test drives are the best thing you can do. that way the Car its self will talk to you no just the looks. i drove 5 Bug's and a Blob Eye before i found mine. and if you have never driven one before it will change your look on cars lol.the Spool, the raw power and the sexy Purr. you will be hooked, i even have started to convert my wife who is an Evo fan to our side.

Looks like a nice car. Im curious about what mods it may have though. The exhaust and gauges lead me to believe it has engine modifications. Also wondering why there's no engine pictures. You have to be careful when buying modified subarus. As for a hawkeye vs new sti.....I can't help you there.

Boo-key is right. There is too much aftermarket in that interior for it to be unmolested.

Could be, but I'm not certain.... 80k of one owner beating the piss out of it.
More people beat them than baby them. I often get approached by others to street race.
I just give them the douche bag look and pull away granny style. Fol

I'd go for the '07 STi personally, as it looks in great condition. However, I'd first ask about what engine mods it has, get a photo of the engine bay and post both of those items here for comment.

If you're concerned that the '07 STi has been flogged, ask for a compression test. The rest you can tell from a test drive.

The price on that 07 seems high to me, I got a 2010 with less miles for just about 2 grand less. It is just a wrx so that may make the difference. Money no object, I would go with a 14 STi, that way you know it hasn't been beaten on or ridden hard. On the other hand, if you have been bitten by the mod bug the 07 is the best way to go.
Just my .02

Either way you're gonna have a blast FOL

That's about what an 07 unmolested will go for, or an 08 with 100k.
