2006 WRX Hood

Does anyone know of a good source for body parts for the 2006 cars? I am looking for a new hood as mine was recently damaged fairly severly by hail. Performance or stock, I have no preferences at this time.

You'll find that most CF hoods (if they're even out yet for the 06s) that they are equally light or even heavier than the stock hood. Our hoods are already very light since they're made of an aluminum alloy.

$1000 deductable is right up around (or more) the cost of a new hood + install.

I know that in our classified section there were some 06 OEM parts for sale. I doubt there is a hood, but it is worth a look. Also, check around in local salvage yards, they could possibly have one, they might even have one in your same body color, selection will vary Dependant upon the size of your area (i.e. large or small city).

Your local dealership should be able to get you a new hood

your best bet would be to go through the dealer, junkyard diving might not help can't see that many 06's being wrecked just yet. A body shop could get one easily too but screw getting it installed, DIY.

Yeah... hood installs are usually just a matter of a couple bolts. If you can change a lightbulb you can install a hood

A junkyard would be a bad place to get a hood anyway, 75% or more cars I see in junkyards have the front sections all jacked up. It's easier to total a car running into someone from behind than being hit from behind. In my experience, Subaru parts aren't that expensive. I'm guessing a new hood would run in the ballpark of $750+/-

EDIT: I found this site: https://www.1stsubaruparts.com/.... an STi hood is $336 there... (I belive on the 06 the STi and WRX hoods are identical). Shipping will probably be around $100 since it's so large.
