08 stock exhaust

I was wondering if I unhooked and just put a gap between the mufflers and the pipe on my wrx would that cause any problems. It sounds pretty good for being free. Just wanted to make sure it would not hurt anything. Thanks

I was just wondering how would I lose power? It would be just right at the end before the mufflers.

Right before the muffler bolts to the pipe. Under the trunk. Sorry about the plural mufflers I have a dual exhaust.

The parts above it are not designed for exhaust output. You're likely to cause damage on the underside of your car. Also it's going to fail inspection. Also it will cause a weird airflow diversion and might cause power sucking backpressure/turbulence.
