05 WRX Tranny

I've had my 05 WRX for about a year now. The car has 16,000 miles on it, and i have not noticed any tranny issues. my brother has an 04 and he had to take his in to the dealer for syncr. issues. My question is how to the 05 tranny's compare to the previous 02-04 models. I plan on modding the car, TBE, EM, and maybe a better TMIC latter down the road, nothing too crazy though. Thanks!

They're all the same except the 02. Some ppl claim the early 03s had the 02 tranny as well though. Most 03s and all 04-05s have the same tranny

pretty much to sum up... the wrx tranny pre-2006 sucks. and if you do mods that add power plan on replacing it.

i am not going too nuts on my wrx as it is not being built to be my track car. but even so with just a TBE, EM, uppipe, i am getting a level ten transmission (brand name) because for 1 i hear great stuff about them, and 2 i know eventually this tranny will die.

several people have already broken their 06 trannys at stock power levels. I don't think we should be so quick to praise the tranny on the 06 as substantially better than the past versions

i broke my 03 tranny on wrx. i found an 05 will it bolt right up? or are they diferent?anyone know? thanx
