I washed the car last evening 8pm (only time it's below a 100*) and when I started it to move it in the garage the ABS light never turned off.... This morning, the same thing... still has yet to turn off. I did order new pads Saturday because it's time (maybe even past time) What are you guys thoughts ? Would the ecu store a code of sorts ?
What a coincidence.. my brother has a 98 Dodge Dakota and his ABS light just recently came on too. It's going in for service tomorrow, so if I can find out any specific info about the problem, I'll let you know.

I called the dealer and asked them WHY the hell would they release a car for sale with no brakepads left. 200 miles ( ) They said they would get back to me. 600.00 for Brembo pads.... They must have smoked some stuff when they came up w/those #'s... lol
Picked up some ceramic Hawks ( see how they do )
Im sure if your car went through a certification inspection before the dealer puts it on the lot for sale they should really take the responsibility of getting you new ones. It's crappy how they think they can sell a car with no brakes. You really need to harass them about it.
Did it come with some sort of 3month/3000 mile warranty? If so I would tell them to replace the pads or to let you skip a car payment or something.

Oh I can guarantee you someone is paying for them.... that or something else. They said it was inspected on 06/26..... I put $ on the car to have it held on 07/04
I've put +/- 200 miles on it since..... It shouldn't have passed inspection (2mm BS) I was told when I took my rex in 2 months ago and it was at 3mm.... I told them I would be back in 5K miles to have it done then... f'in retards.
They told me about the same...little bit more. $495 for front pads and $295 for rear pads. I bought EBC redstuff pads off SubaruGenuineParts.com || Where Genuine is Better! for a little over $200 for pads on all 4 corners. They call it a Stealership for a reason.
I recommend hawk HPS pads. You don't need anything serious. High performance pads can be dangerous because they are designed for higher temperatures and don't work as well cold (street conditions).

Well, they didn't finish with the inspection from what I was told by the service manager. Soooooooooo, I'll have a spare set of Brembo's for sale soon. We will see how the ceramics go... Am I wrong saying that they HAVE to put the brembo pads on there at the dealer ?
I would have them put the new brembo's on there for you as they are still good brakes and then keep your other pads for a track day or when the brembo's take a dump again.

Sounds like a plan is brewing. Get the dealership to replace em. From my understanding on my own brakes. The Redstuff is basically a brembo pad. The brembos are supposedly ceramics and the redstuff is a ceramic pad. The yellowstuff pads are EBCs track pad. Which I didn't want or need for my car.
Well, the tech here in SA showed me the brakes and wear sensors... the pads have about 6-9 months left on them.... noisy bastards..... so no new pads for me other than the ones I ordered.... Nice guy.... builds engines on the side.
