If you want to do it properly, you should replace the struts as well and get yourself some harder springs (not necessarily lower but they do turn out to be about an inch lower). Swift makes both cosmetic and correctly lengthed performance springs (be careful which you're getting) but unfortunately, I don't know where to point you for new struts. The D-spec struts generally recommended are only for the 02-07 WRX models.

Anyway, springs:
Turn in Concepts - 2008-2009 2.5i/WRX Swift Springs

You'll notice the drop is only 0.8". While you're at it, ask TiC about struts for your car maybe they can get creative for you.

Too true, I'm running S Techs on my 09 and my front drivers side shock just started leaking, blown shock...
