Stupid Tire Question

2011 WRX, stock wheels, tire size is 235/45/17

Will these tire sizes fit on the stock wheel without affecting traction control or rubbing?

they will fit but you should not use them. i cant remember if your wheel is 7.5" or 8" across but you do not what to go over 20% of your width. 8" is 203.2mm, 20% is 243.84mm. the 245 is 1.16mm to wide. i know your thinking thats nothing (and it is), but you shouldnt do it. your side wall will have more flex because its overly wide.

plus your also increasing the heigth of the tire. your stock height is 25.3", a 245/45 is 25.7" and 255/45 is 26". this will affect your top speed, your take off speed, put more stress on tranny and diff etc at take off. if anything you want a tire that is 25.3" as stock or just a little smaller, like 25". plus your just increasing rotational weight which is also bad.
