Sparcos or OZ

Hi there, new to WRX in general. Just got myself a 2011 5-door (dark grey) and looking to put on some gold rims with the all-season Bridgestone Potenza tires.

My question to you is the difference in price between these Sparcos and the OZ worth it?

I'm not racing, so the weight difference doesn't matter to me. But if I drop a couple of hundred dollars on rims, I'd really like them to last...forever.

Thoughts and feedback would be greatly appreciated! Also, if you happen to be selling some nice gold rims (17", 5x100 bolt, and 48-53 offset) please PM me or email me at carrotvt@gmail.com).

Thanks!

V

I have OZ Ultraleggera's for my 2011 WRX. I love them... and I have to say even if you aren't using them on the track—I really noticed a difference losing 6lbs per wheel of rotational mass.

I actually bought them used... which certainly helped with the price. My WRX is world rally blue and the wheels are silver. I am currently having them painted black with a gold flake (similar to java black pearl).

Pick up the Sparco's..... I think they went in with OZ anyways (group effort). The Assetto Gara rims are popular with the Mazdaspeed guys.

I would imagine in general (not knowing what you were looking at) that Sparco wheels would be heavier.

are the Sparcos quality made rims though? They're manufactured in China and I believe the molding process is different than OZ. I'm just wondering if the quality is worth the 2x price.

Almost everything is made in China now. I haven't heard of any issues with the Sparco's.

I actually just put a pic of my superleggaras on because i'm gonna have them painted. They are so much lighter comparetively speaking i think it's worth the extra bucks.

I decided to go with the 17x8" Sparco Tarmac wheels.

Unless you need the lighter weight of the OZ wheels, the premium for them just doesn't seem worth it.

Both are top quality items, and Sparco's items are made under partnership with OZ, so you are getting exceptional quality and value at the same time.
