Bugeye fitment.

just got 02 bugeye(bone stock) looking to get some wheels but don't really know my limits with the stock suspension, id like to drop it like 1.5 eventually. I think x8's would be okay from what I read but idrk with theses cars. Someone point me in the right direction?

18x8's or 17x8's? and and what tire to give a good aggressive look but not rub, feel free to show your own setup!

Attachment is what I want, just dk if they'll fit: XXR 522 18x9.5 ET38
Maxxis MA-Z1 265/35/18

17x8 +45 to +50 are the undeniably perfect fit for these cars. The ideal size is 235/45/17, but 245/40/17 fits. They aren't retard aggressive like your picture though. Those wheels are god awful fitment and in any street condition result in loss of performance and loss of reliability.

I also figured I'd mention that due to age and wear dropping the car is not just going to consist of springs. Unless this car is super low mileage then you're going to need to replace all stock struts and top hats as well. Stock struts typically only have a lifespan of ~80,000 miles. They might not be completely blown and leaking at that point of course, but they are completely worn out and something like lowering springs being installed at that point could be the killing blow.

Thats for the input on goin low, its got 102k so ill deff take ## advice.

As far as what youve said on topic of wheels, thanks for the info. I found a set of Sparco's(didnt even know they made wheels) lol. Check the link if you want, their 17x7.5, on the link this is what it says in important notes:
225/45-17 is better on the WRX than the 215/45-17.

What would be a good tire for that? Somewat stretched look would be okay but im all function thia time around. Thanks

225/40/18 if you go with that size rim.
And it is odd BRFATAL didn't point out that XXRs are the absolute worst wheels money can buy.
Google XXR broke on google images.

An 18x8.5 is the max you should go.
And if you lower it with those they'll rub just a tad.

good luck

I don't have personal experience with the Sparco wheels but I'm sure they are better than the first wheels you posted!

I like the Enkei wheels alot also. They are cheap, light and have classic motorsports styling.

The RPF1 comes in a 17x8 +45mm size that is designed specifically with the WRX in mind. They even come in bling bling gold if that suits your taste.

Fellow Bugeye owner here just showing you what my set up looks like (seems similar to what you're getting) I believe the wheels on my car are 17x8 (haven't bothered to 100% confirm as I have only had the car a month. Also, I am unsure of the offset of the wheel) and currently I have some 225/45R17 Michelin Winter Tires on that are wrapped around 17 inch SSR SSF Type C wheels and this is the look on stock suspension

You might also want to check out Rota wheels at WHEELDUDE.COM. They make reasonably priced replicas of much more expensive wheels and are a step up from XXRs. Many styles and sizes to choose from, but it's a good idea to stick with a higher/closer to stock offset to avoid fitment issues.

My setup (07 WRX - same body style as yours):
17x9 +42 Rota DPTs
245/40/17 Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Specs
BC BR coilovers
front/rear fenders rolled/pulled
aligned and corner balanced with a reasonable amount of camber

...and I still have a very slight rubbing issue in my left rear when I hit large bumps in the road. The outer edge of my tire occasionally rubs the inside edge of my fender, but not enough to really worry about - it's more of an annoyance. A slightly higher ride height, a little more camber (worse tire wear in the long run), or a slightly more aggressive fender pull would completely fix the issue, but I'm happy where I'm at for now.
