04 wrx wheels on 07 wrx

I have a 2007 wrx tr, I jsut got a set of 04 wrx wheels with snow tires on them fro real cheap, im plan on using them jsut for winter but my friend told me i need 3mm spacers for the front of the 04 wrx wheels cause they are only 16's and they will hit my brakes, jsut wanted to make sure cause i already got the spacers and i im gonna put them on next week, wanted to make sure this was right and make sure i don't need them for the back either please let me know

Well your friend is right that they wont clear the brakes. But I dont know how good for the car or safe it is to really run the spacers on the car. There are others on here that know more about wheels/tires and should chime in to help you out.
