03 WRX axle nut check/tighten
So I've been playing detective trying to find out where this metal "click" noise is coming from when I let out the clutch in first (also happens when in different gears if I let off the gas, roll the weight forward, and then hit the gas again). After replacing the trans mount and all the bushings to no avail, I'm gonna check my axle nut on the side the sound is coming from. Should this be done by leaving the wheel on the ground and popping the center cap off the stock rim, or should I put it in the air and try to loosen it while in gear? Any tips from anyone who's done this or perhaps had the same click? Anything specific to look out for?
For anyone with the same problem with the click: I've gotten rid of most of the sound by tightening up the axle nuts. Its very quiet now if and when it happens. Still a bit prominent when rolling and rocking the weight back and forth with the throttle. Still investigating.... Any suggestions are welcomed.
