From what I've seen torque is the killer...I'd say keep it around 350-370ish, pending dyno, elevation/correction and fuel.

Plus even with over 350whp your tanny is going to break sooner then later. Dont launch it with that amount of power.

Torque is the killer....350 and up is where you start dancing in the red zone.

Who knows how strong the 08+ gears are yet (hopefully strong), but just because you don't launch it doens't mean it won't break.. A lot of the 3rd gears that blow happen when they're in gear and already pulling for a while. They just shear off.

Is the 3rd gear shearing off regarding to the the LGT trans? I haven't heard that at all.

From what I've seen there are plenty of 400+whp cars out there. Not saying you wont have issues with a certain "number" but I think it all comes down to how you drive your car and how sober/work oriented the guy was that put your trans together
Plenty of stock cars have blown the trans too....

^Correct, I'm talking about the pre 08 models blowing up 3rd gear. So far I haven't heard of a single gear failure in the 08+ models, just a syncro issue.

Irrelevant. You hardly need to launch the car to break a gear.

And this really isn't a guess....

Only thing that is partially off is that it may be later than sooner....
