VF52 Turbo Question

I have a 2008 WRX and I was thinking about looking for a used VF52 turbo from a 2009 WRX to upgrade as a direct bolt on replacement.

Question: Is the VF52 turbo from the 05-09 Legacy GT the same turbo and will it be a direct bolt on without any modifications?

Also If I go this route will the only other thing I need to do is to load a 2009 WRX map in the computer?

Thanks,
JG

I know the newer gen LGTs have the same motor, EJ255. Most likely it's a direct bolt on, and you're right about the 09+ ECU reflash.

Other then that, I'm sure things you may or may not have to replace are small things like rubber seals or things of that nature.

Are you on 3gwrx.com ? I'm pretty sure this has been covered there, you may just have to search the archives some..

In theory you can just load an 09 WRX map and be good, but I wouldn't do it. Some other things may have changed that could throw the tune off, and you're better off getting a custom tune for it anyways.
