VF 52 max boost

What is a "SAFE" max boost a VF 52 can hold with out blowing up eventually?

Garage
The Cobb stage two is conservative being at 18psi for the regular waste gate and torque performance has a stage 2 map at 19psi. I'd go out on a limb and say 19-20psi max

Max boost is a relative term. Can you run 30 PSI on a VF52? Yes, will it be efficient at 30 PSI? Hell no, it'll probably run like dog dirt. Its whatever boost you need to get the best effect out of the turbo is your max boost. That can vary from car to car and turbo to turbo. Which is why a protune is so much better than a generic safe OTS map.

It can run enough boost to propel you into the 11's, which is enough.

Well I am do the point after my DP, that I will be buyng a bunch of parts slowly and waiting till I get enough to do a protune, just wanted to make sure that it would be worth my while keeping the vf52 or upgrading to something bigger.
But I also want to make it a reliable DD, which I don't know where that line lays

^^ Exactly. 20 is the most you can go, I've had them personally & I never went above 14 or so. Just because something is capable of a certain benchmark doesn't mean you want to push it to that benchmark all the time. I try to dial everything back 25-30% for longevity. Sometimes this requires going bigger.

E.G. If I needed 20 7 of boost I would go with a bigger turbo than a VF. Something capable of 27-30 & dial it back to 20. But thats just me. But, you'll see me driving the same car week in & week out, not showing up at the meet with a new turbo, new this or new that because I pushed it too hard & broke it.

There is no such thing as "overkill," but there is "over budget," so it's a balancing act.

Depends where you want the max at. Down low 22-23 psi worked for me. Up high only 15-16 psi worked for me. Any higher and you start blowing hot air and knocking which means you pull timing and lose power. Its a fine line with boost and timing. Both can make about 10hp for every psi or degree increase but tipping the scales on one or the other will result in knock.
