TurboXS

my local COBB garage told me that TurboXS is a crap company but alot of people really seem to like their products. Is it true that they make crap stuff or is COBB just trying to take my money for themselves?

That is a load of bs. The utec is one of the most successful engine management solutions out there (for the wrx), and their other products are known to be good quality as well. I've installed probably a dozen different uppipes, and the best fitting, best looking quality ones (even better fitting than stock) were made by turboxs.

I'm not going to pass any judgment on the garage that told you that, but I'd do some independent research if I were you.

I invite you to take a look in my thread, Boost Addict's 08 WRX, in this very section. I've recently replaced a lot of my components with TurboXS goods and have been more and more impressed with each product.

If I had to rate my current satisfaction with my recent TurboXS products:

Performance/Functionality: A+
Design: A+
Looks/Finish: A+
Fitment: A+
Welds: A+
Supporting Parts (Clamps, Hoses, etc): A+
Overall Quality: A+

Even still, I encourage you to do your own research and speak with people who actually own their products, not competing companies. Best of luck man!

I have to agree with the above said. I love Cobb, dont get me wrong. But TurboXS was on my list of exhausts to consider. I run their TMIC, its a quality piece, great fit, Im very happy with it. Sounds like unfortunately they are just trying to push their product, which is understandble, but not the truth.

BOVs are a tricky monster. So, it's normally thought to just not even put a BOV on. Keep it stock a.k.a. BPV

In between shifts yeah... The MAF expects there to be a lote more air coming but since it was bled out of the system the car has too much fuel and will stumble or even stall. If you want to hear it just slap an intake on (08+'s can handle it) and you can hear it pretty well. I'm running a Perrin CAI on mine and love the added sound. Get an aftermarket BPV and you'll hear it even more.

You could always get a hybrid BPV. There are several that only vent partially to the atmosphere. I just recently switched from the Perrin BPV to the Cobb XLE BOV and running it in hybrid mode. Its slightly louder than my previous setup, but no driving issues what so ever.

Thats the one I was actually just running on my car before I switched. It was alrite, but the Cobb is by far superior in quality to the Perrin. Plus the Cobb unit fits my setup better, but the Cobb costs $295, so the Perrin seems the logical choice. Its not a bad one, but if you upgrade your TMIC just be aware of fitment issues being a possibility.
