stg II 08 wrx

here are the dyno charts for my stage II wrx.
we found an exhaust leak after i did my runs, so i dont know how much that may have affected the car. what do you guys think, does it seem like standard numbers?

cobb stage II, full TBE

Well numbers dont mean anything cause every dyno is different all you are looking for is a smooth power band looks like it pretty good, are you happy with the car after he tuned it? how does it pull

well it wasn't a tune, just a dyno with a cobb tune. i forgot to add that we found an exhaust leak after the pulls, do it actually made more of a difference than i thought it would. it definitely pulled harder after i sealed up the leak so that will probably account for a few horses. but it was a mustang dyno and the torque is decent so im happy with it.

It is all in your head. Post turbo leaks will not affect performance.

That's not true, backpressure is Important
for turbo spooling, my tuner had seen cars lose 20-25hp from exhaust leaks

No need to get mad. Most of the time an exhaust leak that will affect spool is preturbo. I don't think that you were losing enough back pressure from a leak at the DP to CB junction to make that significant of a difference.

no im not mad, i was just relaying what my tuner told me. and im not that guy who really wants to believe that his car is faster than it is, i wasnt expecting to feel more pull but i did. also, im pretty sure a stage 2 tune isnt supposed to put out 197hp

The Stage 2 OTS Cobb Map states +13% HP and +14% WTQ

With the rated 224 HP that the 2008 WRX come with stock and allowing for 15% (could be more) drive train loss that makes your expected WHP ~220.

The quick example that I found on Nasioc with a OTS Cobb Stage 2 map made 199 WHP/270 WTQ, and a guy with a OTS PDX Stage 2 map made 214WHP/250WTQ. That makes your numbers pretty realistic to me.

Boost Addict reported similar results with his OTS Perrin Stage 2 map as well.

Dyno losses range in the 25-30% range. 15% is not true for an AWD car. Anyway, 200whp on a low reading dyno for a stage 2 is fairly common. It's just a number. If you want higher numbers, go put it on a dynapack.

My stage 2 wrx with a protune made 191whp on a dyno where stock WRX's put down about 150whp. You should ask for relative numbers to stock before deciding that something went wrong.

no i dont think anything went "wrong" and im happy with stage 2 no matter what the numbers (especially after test driving a stock 08 yesterday!) i was just wondering about the numbers and the validity of my tuners claim of a 20hp loss because of the leak

Shocker is an unknown
On a Dynocon Dyno I put down 232 WHP and 282 TRQ.
I have a pro tune
Cobb down pipe
SPT CBE
Harman Motive CAI
I too have a nice exhaust leak coming from the flange where the down pipe connects to the mid pipe.

Yeah when i was told to get downpipe and protune, I was also told i should expect to be higher than or equal the power of a 08 sti (surely stock)
