What? No, it's fine. It's not going to effect the "break-in" period.

I orderered it in late July and got it 2 weeks ago from SubaruWRXparts.com: Quality OEM and aftermarket parts for your Subaru Impreza, Legacy, and Forester. at $295. It's back to regular price. SubaruGenuineParts.com || Where Genuine is Better! also had it at $333 but it doens't seem to be on the website anymore. I'm very happy to be able to have it at that price because with shipping taxes and brokerage to Canada, the total without installation is close to $600, so I woulndn't have bought it at this price.

Sound is amazing, and I was very surprised by the power increase and that the fact that the power doesn't fall flat at 5,000 RPM (now it keeps closer to 6,000). Still not as powerful and doens't sound as good than my stage-1 SRT-4 2004 or the 2007 Corvette I had this summer but the power is very usable in every day driving.

I thing that considering the major update that Subaru made on the 2009 WRX, they sould keep the catback at that price point and even offer a discounted performance package including, front grill, turbo, exhaust and ECU tuning without affecting the warranty.

I'm lucky that I bought mine used because in Canada, price of 224 HP WRX fell from $35,500 to about $31,500. It's good that they reply so fast to negative critics but it's very frustrating for 2008 owners.

The exhaust sounds pretty dang good. The stock exhaust is a joke. Getting the exhaust with the entire back-order issue had to be really dissappointing. It was a manufacture flaw that was corrected, so worth the wait.

Wild Thing I very much agree with you.

Hi

I have just one problem with the exhaust, I don't know if it's with the exhaust or the install but the Y (the link between both mufflers) is very very low, like 3-3.5 inches. When I have people on the backseat and I hit a bumb on the road, I hear it rub on the ground.

With the winter coming, I think that I could damage it if I roll over a small ice block.

I could post pic if somebody want to compare.

P.S. I'm not sure about my English in that post but you probably understand

I noticed you have an 07. I wouldnt know what the reason is. On my 08, the union where the two pipes meet to go towards the rear is the lowest point of the exhaust. I havent had any rubbing problems, BUT my car suspension is still stock. If you have a 07, did you put the 08 SPT cbe on? You would be the first that i came across on diff forums that has done this. Is your car lowerd?

I really have a 2008. The union is exactly the part I talk about and my suspension is stock. I had 18" Enkei rims but I just put my winter tires on with the stocks rim and it's the same. But only if there's a passenter on the backseat. I happened once with 1 person and once with 2 people. But they were people on the backseat only twice, so it's like 100 % of time. And it never happens once when we're 2 in the car.

Can somebody measure how clearance there is exactly? I will measure mine but I would say it's about 3.5". I wonder if I could damage it this winter since there's often ice block on the road after a snow storm. I'm afraid that something clear the front bumper and hits directly the union.

But I don't want to pay $300 / year to change my exhaust twice.

Thanks a lot

Ill measure mine and repost. How long did you have the exhaust? was it on when you purchased the car. Im asking because some exhaust got in circulation before SPT realized a design flaw. Hence i paid for mine in advance and waited about 3 mos till delivery. I was Perhaps you can call the good people at SPT and ask if this is related to the design flaw.
