Yay 1.5" piping! All hail the 08 stock catback! The only worse downgrade was the intake.
Seriously, you think Subaru just wanted to raise sales on their SPT parts or what? The 08's turbo probably has more in it than the old TD04 did but it's too bottled up on both ends to strut it's stuff!
2.5" to the resonator, 2" from there to the "y", 1.5" to the muffler flange, then 1.75" on the muffler to 2" exiting it. What a rediculous system. They couldn't make up their mind on what to do. I'm sure it was all for sound, but there has to be a better way.
On the plus side, what other WRX see's a 51whp difference from a CAI and a CB? LOL I'm still trying to convince XPT that a CB on an 08 sedan is basically stage 2. hehehehe

It's not. Your downpipe is still a piece of crap and if you start cranking it up, you're going to cause serious problems with that restriction.
In regards to mosc says, yes that would def cause problems+damage to the turbo if you do this. Perrin tech personnel did mention the up-pipe is good to go. The DP is the issue if you were to go stage 2.

Does anybody know if COBB's single exhaust for the hatch can be easily fitted on the sedans? It looks like the spare tire storage tray might be in the way...
If anyone has pictures that compare the 5door stock vs SPT exhaust I'd love to see them. I'm trying to decide between DP + SPT or DP + midpipe + stock muffler.
