Something feels wrong with a Kartboy SS

A Kartboy SS has been recently installed on my 09 wrx sedan,I don`t know what the problem is but it doesn`t feel right. When i`m down shifting and i`m on lower gear on 2-2.5 RPM noise is coming from the shifter. They told me that this was from the bushings but i cant believe that because it`s more like metal noise then rubber. If any one has kartboy SS please let me know how it is whit your shifter any problems or noises thank you

I have the Kartboy shifter bushings and the shifter. From my experience when I installed the bushings I got increased transmission noise. It was annoying but I've kind of gotten used to it. Then when I installed the shifter I tightened the linkage too tight and it was binding a bit. I loosened it a little and it was perfect.

Yeah I have the shifter and bushings and I really don't notice any additional noise while driving. While shifting, however, you should never hear a noise besides the simple click of hitting your gear. My guess would be either your front bushings weren't tightened enought (but not too tight), or more likely it may be rubbing on the steel trim around the shifter. Your best bet is to take off the trim around it, including the boot and shift through your gears in the garage and see if it's rubbing at all (most likely in 1-3). If not my next step would be going under the car and observe the front bushing while somebody shifts and see if you can figure out where it's coming from. Unless I've misunderstood your post hopefully this will help.

Almost sounds like it could also be an engine/tranny mount issue as well. I would still start at looking at the linkage and see if maybe they loosened something they shouldn't have.

The problem may be in the tranny.I went back to the shop and the check everything and the worst case is that i have to go to the dealer and see what they are going to say.But the next question is to return to stock or stay with the SS????I don`t know what to do!!!!
