Yeah I have the shifter and bushings and I really don't notice any additional noise while driving. While shifting, however, you should never hear a noise besides the simple click of hitting your gear. My guess would be either your front bushings weren't tightened enought (but not too tight), or more likely it may be rubbing on the steel trim around the shifter. Your best bet is to take off the trim around it, including the boot and shift through your gears in the garage and see if it's rubbing at all (most likely in 1-3). If not my next step would be going under the car and observe the front bushing while somebody shifts and see if you can figure out where it's coming from.
