Silencer Delete

I was wondering if this silencer delete would be the same process on my 11 wrx as it would be on this 06 sti?

I would love to do this to my wrx but want to make sure it won't harm anything

You don't have one.

Nathan21 10-17-2013 05:41 PM

would a k&n drop in make anything louder, im trying to get more noise lol

arewmors 10-17-2013 05:49 PM

CAI it up that way you can tune for it

Nathan21 10-17-2013 05:59 PM

I am getting the V3 soon, should I go with the cobb CAI as well?
and i know I should go with a BPV but will the increase my noise much unlike a BOV

I recommend the aem cai. And David aka neversummer recommended that to me and I'd never look back. There is an OTS map for the aem cai.

Why aem over cobb?

It just works for me. Everyone is diff. My friend has the Cobb sf aka dream box and he hates it. I had it for a minute and took it out. Louder and didn't even make any diff. My tuner suggested the aem and I haven't looked back.

so the AEM is louder then Cobb? or Vi Versa?

arewmors 10-17-2013 07:09 PM

Some of personal preference, some of recommendation, other because the Cobb is more of less a short ram intake and the AEM isn't. Essentially it would probably benefit you the most in the long run, even though the stock intake is plenty good as far as performance goes until 300-400 hp, but you never know where you may want to go. Just my few cents. I believe the AEM is cheaper than the Cobb with the box. Cobb is $315 on Cobb's site and AEM I paid $229 on Summit's website with free shipping and I got it the next day.

Cause it's a CAI instead of "hot box" lol! If you're gonna spend money on an intake you def don't wanna regret what you bought later when a CAI is NEEDED. plus a CAI makes much more audible noise than any short ram intake. It's also OTS map compatible and will be perfect down the road no matter what mod path you take. You can't say that for Cobb's setup.

Just don't drive in deep puddles and stuff like that....a CAI can suck up the water easier.

^Only downfall of a CAI^

I have ran CAI in the past but I didn't realize Cobb was a short ram since the advertise it as a CAI, thanks guy, I guess that will be my next mod after I get my car and AP home lol

You have that backwards.

:nono: Please don't start repeating this myth.
