I'm to subies and was looking to do my first mod. I have an 09 wrx sedan and wanted to know what you guys thought would be a good choice. Should I get the cbe first or perrins stage 1 kit? Thanks Ryan
Honestly a stage `1 flash is much better for the car and driver. A stage 1 flash gets rid of the crappy stock map, gets a little increase in power, and you can get better MPG from it. Or you can save up for the both and do them at the same time.
I think I'll get the flash now then after I get the exhaust. Any ideas on the exhaust? I was it to turn heads but not be to loud because it's my everyday driver
I would stick with something like Cobb or Perrin then (dont know much about the new gen exhausts), but they are a little louder at idle and open up at WOT which can catch people off guard.
You could also look into the Turbo-xs exhaust, it would also be cheaper than the Perrin. The turbo-xs now has a resonator, also Cobb doesn't make anything for the sedans.
Who told you to stay away from Turbo-xs and for what reasons? The only thing I can think of is they were trying to sell you on something else. The turbo-xs quality is as good, if not better than Perrin. It may be a little louder than the Perrin but I haven't heard their new setup with the resonator.
My perrin CBE on my 2010 hatch turns heads, but its also quiet when you want it to be.
