NeverSummer i have not flashed my car to stage one yet because i don't have the AP yet. Its good to hear you can feel a difference though.

I have another question a new down pipe would that need stage 2 maps?? or would that be like 1.5 ??

On my 06 Wrx I ran stage 2 with only a catted downpipe and stock catback for probably a month no problem at all deff feel better flow when the full turbo back is on compared to just downpipe

You def can run a stage 2 setup with only a DP as I do it myself. I'm on an OS stage 2 though. With only the AP and an OTS map I've heard it's better to run a stage 1.5 from a few people. I don't know the particulars as I don't have an AP but I'm sure one of the members can clarify things. I'm sure it has something to do with the 'blanket tune' an OTS gives and may be pushing the perimeters of safety on stage 2.

basically saying stage 1 pushing stage 2 like I didn't know if i could get by with stage 1 or if I should go stage 2 when I get it. That's all just covering all the bases before I jump into the modding seine.



Is a turbo back just one long pipe compared to a down pipe than catback??

To my knowledge its a stage 2 minus the CBE and non aggressive tune. No?.?.

I've heard/seen plenty of mentioning of it on forums and what not. Never read any 'technical' explanation but what I mentioned above woulda been my guess to a 1.5 tune

You have an up pipe, down pipe, and cat back to your exhaust system (besides the headers) obviously lol! All 3 pieces are sold separately. And all of them combined is what's called a 'turbo back exhaust' or 'TBE' for short. If you ever go with headers it would be 'HBE'

Let me clarify what stage 2 and stage 1 mean. They mean whatever the hell cobb says they mean. It's just their way of saying a set parts list for a map. Any hardware configuration that you would use a "stage 1" map on is "stage 1". Any hardware configuration you would use a "stage 2" map on is "stage 2". In other words, Stage 1.5 just sounds stupid since cobb doesn't make any "stage 1.5" maps.
