New to WRX. Looking to get 500whp

Hello all. Within the next week I am buying a 2008 WRX Sedan with 53K miles. My question is what you all think is a good, and more importantly SAFE way to achieve 500whp. What I am thinking of doing is getting the GT3076R Rotated turbo kit by Perrin but I'm not really sure if that will meet my goals.

Thanks.

Transmission and engine build. Those will be your biggest concerns right there. And if 500 to the ground is what you want, probably need something bigger than an GT30, unless you are running meth, or race fuel.

you'll need way more turbo than that...I'm making mid 5XX AWHP on a 35R HTA...look at my mod list to get an idea what you'll need

Thanks for the replies. Well, I'm really into the idea of a sleeper car. It will definitely be a daily driver that is taken to its max every once and a while. I came up with 500whp because I figured it would be fairly difficult and take me a while to complete (I like a project).

I think maybe cutouts would be a good idea for a sleeper because I don't want it to be so loud all the time.

@chrischilders22: I read the thread and it was really helpful. My next question is how fast can a 400whp WRX sprint from 0-60mph?

^^What he said!!! It will be better to increase the power little by little. It will be safer for you and others on the road. If you've never driven a 400-500HP vehicle, you should watch some youtube videos of people spinning out or crashing their Lamborghini & Ferraris!
It's not easy to control!

I have driven a car with 400whp, not 500 though. $40K is a little too rich for me. Maybe I will stick to 400whp as a goal.

Well that is a lot of stuff, but I will be doing the work myself. I have a pseudo-shop, so most of those things I can do myself. Unless I replace the piston sleeves. What would be the advantage of doing sleeves. Just better durability? Are those costly?

Do you all think that stock sleeves with 50K miles can withstand 400whp? What about rods. I'm thinking of starting off by building up the block, then getting turbo kit.

* Not including the purchase price of the car.

That's probably why most of us only have 200-300 +/- hp
