Just read and search around. I have yet to see a prize given out for being the thousandth person to ask the same question.

The first mods you should look into are still going to be engine management and a downpipe.
well, the turbo is also different and I'd hardly call the tune better. The 07 STi's are notoriously poorly tuned from the factory. You should get it re-tuned sooner than later for the car's own good. An AP or similar would work fine.

Apprantly everyone forgets that STIs have a rear LSD w/ a different gear set than WRXs. I'm glad I traded my WRX back in for the 06 STI that i have now.

Edit: not sure if the 08's have a LSD...but i know the 06-07s do.

LSDs are really not that necessary on an AWD car, at least when they're under 400whp

not necessary, but it makes it a hell of a lot safer to drive in adverse conditions if the backend isn't slipping around on you. plus the stock bridgestones are garbage....but we all know that.

also....i was talking to a local tune shop that for some reason i forgot existed until i found my STI there. CBRD, they have a AWD mustang dyno in shop that is factory calibrated. Anyway....they have a 08 sti that has a intake and custom full exhaust waiting to be put on. But they said that Cobb hasn't released any protune software for 08s yet, just the AP software that isn't protune friendly yet.

VD5505 you don't need to, 02-07 wrx comes stock with open front diff but a LSD rear. The sti however comes stock with front and read LSD's. just letting you know

i know nuts about the 08.but my advise would be to hold back ## horses and do as much homework and seek good opinions .and also ask yourself what kind of power are you seeking then plan your mods accordingly.many have gone either the wrong way or a big round and spending alot of unnessesary money.
