Exclamation I got tuned

Well yesterday i went and finally put my car on the dyno. The results were okay IMO, my tuner detuned the car and it made 285-285 even with only 17lbs. He said the TMIC sucks and it was heat soaked and my injectors were between 90-95% duty cycle. So he reccamended a better TMIC or FMIC, pump "which I have but not installed" and injectors. Once I have the above mods, he'll be able to wake up the car.

Also he was real impressed with the 09 stock turbo and he said it just wants to make power so that why he detuned the car. Just wanted to share, Brad.,

Nice, thanks for the heads up. I knew the injectors were running close to max, but wow! Definitely going up on the priority list, lol. Also, I hear quite a few not good things with the stock WRX TMIC. Even upgrading to the STI model is said to be quite an improvement. I have yet to see any up for sale though. Good advice though. I just got the Acess Port and reset some of the timing and what not. The target boost of 18 is not being hit though, only hits just over 15PSI which is odd, but it's a Perrin map and I told them to turn it down a bit since I've heard the plastic ends tend to crack and leak over 18-19 PSI. We'll see what happens in a weeks time of driving it.

You can't use the STi TMIC easily. The 08 and 09 WRX use a layout that's pretty different to the 02-07 WRX and 04-09 STi. There are aftermarket solutions though but generally, you won't be able to put as large a TMIC on your cars due to the turbo and intake manifold layout.

285-285 with what? i thought i read somewhere full exhaust and intake, is that right? what DP?

pretty good though when stock is only 210-220 HP and TQ, must be a nice boost!!

i really complain about my car on the eway. feels like its running out of fuel or lean! it needs a tune and its bone stock except light weight pulley and resonator removed.

I need money so im only going to the dyno for an open source tune, K&N panel filter, catless 3" DP, resonator removed, stock CBE and light pulley, i hope i get 285-285!!!!

then ill go back with AP, CBE, CAI, injectors, pump, TMIC, EBCS, BOV, uppipe and header. shooting for 320-330HP, 360-370TQ

AP: Usless, you're getting a custom tune
CBE: you need this in your first step. The 09's CBE is crap. This should be your first mod
EBCS: You are confusing an electronic boost controller with a boost solenoid. They are two different things. A good 3-port BCS is not electronic.
BOV: totally unneeded
header: why would you put this on? You're shooting for much more torque than hp? This is not what you want. You don't own a honda, it doesn't need a header.

I don't understand getting a FMIC with your cars either. The entire point of that layout is that the turbo, intercooler, and intake of the motor are as close as possible. You're not changing the turbo to benefit from all that extra cooling, you're just adding a really stupid amount of cold side piping to a car designed with almost none. Save the FMIC for when/if you get some massive turbo that needs it. When you do that, you'll also need a new intake manifold and some other stuff too. It's not a small change to switch to the earlier turbo mount setup or a rotated mount.

WOW really dude??? by all means give me $500 and ill buy a CBE then!!! and 2.5in exahaust can handle up to 300hp which im shooting for 285 for right now!
AP is not usless since i want more than one map and all its features!!
EBCS no im not confused, you are genius!! last time i checked are BCS were controlled with a plug in! GrimmSpeed
BOV is needed over 20psi
header=ask boost addict ive made up my mind about the header, and i said TMIC not frount mount!

The reason why i'm going with a front mount is due to I plan on up grading the turbo in time. Why waste the money on a top mount when i can spend alittle more for front mount kit. Trust me i'm not knocking the TMIC, I just fugured if [i]'m gonna do it right then do it right the first time.

Perrin makes a good TMIC for the 08-09 wrxs. But, yeah...you can't just put a 08-09 STI TMIC in...different piping and turbo layout. The 08-09 STIs share the layout of the 02-07 WRX/STIs.

A stage 1 tune takes only an air filter.
