Yeah you'll def need this. Or a credit card with a high allowance on it. Because you gotta pay to play.

Realistically you shouldn't even plan on making that kind of power yet. If you do, you're gonna need more than $2000. You never did answer my question about driving a 400whp car? You do realize that is about 500 crank hp?

No i haven't driven a car with that much power. Yes i understand its more power at the crank. Yes i know its gonna cost me more then 2k to beef up the motor. Thats just pistons, rings and rods. This is just something that I'm going to start building over the next year or two and was looking for some pointers in parts.

Just some friendly observations, not looking to ruffle any feathers...

There's at least $3,000 in suspension mods that I would do to compliment that kind of power in my Subaru. Check that, adding a new seat, harness, and mounting bar/roll cage should push that above $4,000. I'm probably on the low side...

HP is made at the top end of the rev range on our boxer motors. How often does one regularly drive a DD at/over 5,000 rpm? (I honestly don't know.) If I had money to build a motor (re: drivetrain), I would focus on building one that gives me the flattest torque curve possible (starting at relatively low rpms).
