this isnt bragging because the car is basically bone stock but i remember people ripping on a guy with a 09 wrx saying it was the track or the numbers are wrong or something.
well im just here to say i have a 09 wrx WITH-Perrin light weight pulley, resonator in the exhaust removed, diff inserts, Perrin subframe lock down kit and Perrin SS and yes that is ALL.
did about 6 runs, 55-60 degrees out, elevation 1100ft, all pretty close times, best was .59 reaction, 1.87 60ft, 8.58 1/8 mile at 80.32MPH and 13.38 1/4 mile at 100.65
motor trend did a 09 sti with SPT CBE and stock. Stock was faster 13.3, SPT was 13.4 so ya i guess the WRX are as fast as the STI. STI has to make more shifts and its 221 pounds heavyer then mine. 100lbs is about a .10 of a second, and 10hp is about .10 of a second. so the STI has 40 more hp which is .40 but loses .221 in weight. making a difference of .179 seconds and my pulley could be 5-10hp making them even. so depending on elevation, temp and humidity a wrx can be as fast as a STI depending on when they run.
Very nice times are you tuned? How were you launching the car, need some tips on the launch.
no
Event: quarter mile
Location: Dragway 42, West Salem Ohio
Ambient Temp: 58
Elevation: 1100
Weather: night time, cool, dry
Track and Conditions: concrete i think with tar over lay, flat track
Tires: stock dunlops
Car: 2009, wrx
Fuel: pump unleaded Sunoco 94 with 1/2 tank of gas
Engine/Power Modifications: Perrin light weight pulley, resonator in factory exhaust removed
Drive Train: Perrin SS
Suspension Modifications: Whiteline rear diff inserts, Perrin subframe lock down kit
launch about 5k, feather the clutch for a sec till you feel the car pull and take over, smooth and fast shifting
I like it, I'm at sea level where i live so that will benifit for me. Aso I want to stiffn up the drive train before i take it to the track. Refer to my thread i just posted, need opinions.

Syno, how does the Perrin subframe lock down kit feel? I've looked at that a couple times. I'm more looking into bracing (front mount first) and a rear sway first, but those are a nice cheap addition I think. Let me know what you think of them and how they act. Nice times man. I did do any times yet, but I'm sure we'd be about the same, lol. Good stuff.

hard to say, i only had the car few miles before i put them on. 1st time i heard the 1st to 2nd gear BANG i went looking for a solution and bought them and diff inserts. i dont hear it anymore and the car handles great excepts the crapy stock front end that wants to let go sometimes.
only complaint i have was there design. as im installing theres look just like the pics. just a poly solid ring. i installed the whiteline diff inserts first and i really liked them because they fit into the bushings and take up the space as all the factory bushings have hollow spaces. whitelines subframe bushings look the same as there diff inserts, with the ring but then "long teeth" that fill the gaps in the bushing. im just thinking the Perrin works because the top and bottom are so thick when you bolt it all back together it just crushes everything and makes each subframe bushing a smashed tight one peice. if i could do it over id get the whiteline as im sure they make a better/tighter/one peice bushing.
side note: the Perrin are hard to install!! the top of the subframe doesnt move or come down, u really have to pry on it with a crowbar or a really fat freind!! since the whiteline have to be lined up and install where there "teeth" drop down into the hole, is going to be 1000 times worse as the Perrin you can just throw in there and bolt everything back up!
so if you want to save money and have an easier install go Perrin
if you want a for sure tight fit, the hollow spaces taken up, spend a little more and a really hard install go whiteline
