forge motersports diverter valve

so my brother has a 2008 subaru STi and i aws looking around forum to forum and i saw that blow off valves make your engine run rich if its not running high boost. so i was wondering if a diverter valve would do the same thing? and would it make a blow off valve sound?

no a diverter valve is what is on the car already.

The level of boost has nothing to do with the AFR when the BOV dumps.

There is absolutely no point to install the diverter valve. Stock works fine why change it?

Probably to hear that special sound. I wanted one until I started to read on here about how annoying they are after a while and started to think about it. Besides, with my tbe and drop in filter, I hear that special sound when I really get on it!

A diverter valve wont make that special sound though. The stock valve is a diverter valve.

It could. DV recirculates air back through the intake. The MAF/ECU is expecting that air to be there. If it is not and just released into the atmosphere ECu will try to adjust fuel mixture to compensate for the loss. It will run rich at first and then probably lean out due to the ECU cutting fuel to match air intake or lack there of.

They are both catalytic converters. No stock resonator.
