ERZ Performance catless DP???

anyone know this company? i told my tuner i was gonna get the Invidia catless DP ($272) but then changed my mind because i was affraid of CEL lights. i then desided to get the Perrin catted DP for $300. my tuner then said look at the ERZ Performance catless DP for only $179!!!! and dont worry bout CEL lights, he'll fix them. $179 sounds to good to be true! i do see it uses a cast iron bellmouth then stainless steal piping

Many people have used them. Some bolt right up without a single problem. Some have slight fitment issues. Havent heard of anyone using it on the newer model car yet though.

These people seem to like it: ERZ Catted Downpipe! - NASIOC Apparently they have gotten better recently.

There is no sniffer test in Ohio so you should be fine going catless if you remove the associated CELs.

I was worried that I would fail if I got a catless DP because they still do an e-check in Cleveland...what's the other type other than a sniffer?

The entire diagnostic process is handled through the ODBII port. I believe they might do a sniffer test where they put your car on a dyno and meter the exhaust but since they don't have AWD dynos at the echeck locations the WRX gets exempted. That said, they might fail you just because of the smell, so don't take this as a guarantee that you'll pass with a catless system. Best bet is to keep at least one hi flow cat for emissions and the environment.

Yeah...every time I've been there before they've had a dyno...never had to take the subie there yet...but that's awesome if I'm exempt from the dyno! I would probably still get one with a high flow cat anyways because it would be better for the environment. Here in Ohio they seem to be fading out the echeck in most counties...I think that's so stupid... everyone's worried about global warming because its getting to be a bigger and bigger issue, and yet they are getting rid of the tests that would help stop a lot of pollution... doesn't make sense...

well i got it today. not that happy. i dont like how the pipe sticks out of the bottom flange. i dont like how the gasket came with damage marks from the bolts. how the gasket has a huge lip on it that will get burned by the exhaust gases and i dont like how the bellmouth flange wasnt cut flush and theres a big gap. gonna return it and get the Perrin Catted DP

Sorry to hear that man, looks like another case of "you get what you pay for". Hopefully you have better luck with the Perrin.

Bingo. Will you notice any of it once it's installed? Doubtfully, but you pay for quality and the research of doing it right the 1st time.

dont get me wrong i knew what i paid for and im not mad. by all means i could deal with the three issues myself with some grinding but lets see if they make it better.

Sounds like a plan, it is good that they at least respond to customer complaints. I actually have considered the catted ERZ dp myself before, thinking that they could/would at the very least have copied a successful design from another company. Let us know how it turns out.

You should always replace gaskets when installing new parts, reusing seals always causes problems.

of course use new gaskets, my issue was ERZ gives you a gasket but tells you to buy a new OEM. so why do they include it with the DP when they tell you use OEM?? DURR
