I was checking on getting the Cobb SF Short ram intake for my 2013 WRX limited and was wondering is there really a difference between just the intake and the intake with the air box? I have seen on some forums they get too hot after awhile and I would like to avoid this if possible. I just didn't want anything to go wrong with it.
I wouldnt think it would get too hot but, the airbox will block some heat from the engine resulting in lower intake temps. You should be fine using a cobb intake without any em because they use stock maf location and stock piping diamater but I would get some type of em first. Without any em you will only see minimal if any power gains. Just get a drop in pannel filter and save for em in my opinion.
