CNT performance 08-12 Subaru WRX / STI Catless Downpipe

I just ordered this Cattless DP from these guys for 200 bucks delivered, looks like a good pretty good price.
Has anyone got one of these and if so anything to report that could be useful?

They have good reviews in the Mazdaspeed community. I believe they changed their name from something to CNT.

Should be fine

It's not backfires... It's afterfires..... Backfires means you have some problems... Afterfires are normal.

The smell he is referring to is the "rotten egg" or sulphur smell that goes along with going catless.

i love the smell of catless. just smells like a race track and a race car. i dont smell sulphur as most fuel should not have sulphur in it. it could contain it but it shouldnt. i know carbon monoxide is oderless so that means i love the smell of nitrogen oxides and hydrocarbons.

catted just smells like shit. id assume its the carbon dioxide or nitrogen or something.

A new CAT will smell like rotten eggs until the CAT gets broken in a little.

your saying a CAT is the sulphur smell? ive never smelled it from the one's ive installed. a CAT is just a catalyst, normally ceramic and/or with platnium in it to cause the chemical reaction. it shouldnt smell but most metal parts are coated in cosmoline to protect the metal from rusting during storage and shipping.

I remember my cobb DP cat smelling for about a day or so... then the smell of the metal. Might be a mix between the two. Maybe sulphur is a bad term....

Probably a bad term. But, I remember putting a brand new cat on my first car and when my mom brought home her new car. Each time for about a day or two. It had a funny smell in the garage when the car was cooling down. I'm not saying it'll smell that way going down the street....but, in the garage it does smell like eggs or something close to it.
